Wings Airways Pilot Wing 1st Issue
Blue Bell, PA 1977-1991
Wings Airways was a commuter airline based out of Wings Field at Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. The airline focused primarily on shuttling passengers to nearby airports throughout the region. Wings Airways promised faster commute times between major airports for those living in neighboring suburban areas of Philadelphia. However, the airline shutdown sometime in 1991 due to the construction of I-476 and other highways and interstates, which made it easier for those in the suburbs to access Philadelphia International Airport.
